Training For The Bandera 100km

January 3rd, 2013:

Hope everyone is off to a great start to a new year! I apologize for not posting for awhile (writing comes second to making new videos for my YouTube channel, “Vo2max Productions”) so my most frequent updates are usually there first.  I ramble a bit about my training and life in my latest VLOG below:

Anyway, as mentioned in the video I have been taking some days off from running here and there because of some lingering shin  pain/tendonitis. It has made it so I never really did get over 100 miles a week in training, but I still think I might be able to pull off a decent performance at my next race, The Bandera 100km USATF National Trail Championships on the 12th (as long as I don’t get lost…or fall..or break a bone…or bonk…etc etc.). I was limited to 60 miles a week heading into my first 100km last fall at UROC due to illness and shorter European mountain racing and that one somehow turned out okay. Still waiting for that ultra/trail/mountain performance where I can really smash one and feel strong!

Wishing everyone the best for 2013!

Cheers,

Sage
