Black Canyon 100km RACE REPORT VLOG and What’s Next!

February 29, 2016 | By | 4 Replies More

Since I like to make videos a lot more than writing/blogging I’ve simply added my video log (“VLOG”) Race Report to the bottom of this post. You can also listen to just the audio portion of it (as well as some of my other Training Talks) on my podcast stream!

In short (since the results are already out there), I won the Black Canyon 100km in Arizona and earned an automatic “golden ticket” entry into the Western States 100-mile race this summer. In this VLOG I talk about the transition between racing 4- road marathons in an average time of 2:19:56 over a 10-month span to cranking up the volume and vertical for 100km and beyond on the trails and mountains. I’ll also let you in on what’s next for me race wise!

For now, I’ve been recovering with lot of Flora Health Goji berries and tea and kicking my feet up:

Thanks so much for your continued support and I wish you all the best!

    Hey Sage
Congratulations on winning the Black Canyon 100K! Fantastic achievement! Have you done any videos about preventing black and torn nails? I’ve done my first 20 mile race yesterday and my toes are a bit swollen plus some of the nails are all black.
    All the Best,
    Mark

Thanks! Honestly I still get black toenails and lose them…esp from racing marathons/ultras. Proper fitting shoes help sometimes.
